Yoga & Abstract Painting

“When your mind thinks too much,
it loses touch with the reality of life.
To be real, our feet should be on the earth
and our head should be in the heavens”
- Yogi Bhajan

For this special workshop I've teamed up with a yoga instructor, to create an experience that is relaxing, inspiring and nurturing for our inner artist.

The workshop will start by slowing down the mind with gentle yogic breathing and visualisation, followed by easy yoga postures, a sequence that is specifically designed to open up our creative energy, an energy that will help you to tune in seamlessly into the art session.

The art practice will focus on the process and not on the final visual outcome. This is important as only by allowing our creativity to flow freely we can discover new inspiration and new directions along our path.

In this part I'll will give you a demo of:

  • abstract art techniques I use to break creative blocks and stop the rational side of our brain to interfere with our creative flow. This approach will help you dive into your visual intuition and imagination without struggles.

We will also explore:

  • some simple and effective abstract art techniques to start your blank surface

  • how to create some unique mark-making

  • how to use unusual painting tools and art materials to experiment with

  • how to follow the flow and let go by stopping our inner critic

  • Before ending our practice, I will also suggest you how to  keep making some simple abstract artworks at home.

By the end of the workshop you will feel restored, calm and inspired.

We’ll be together in my art studio, no fuss, no frills, simple as we artists love. The atmosphere will be friendly, supportive, non-judgemental and non-competitive.
